1st of October 2008 Mist and rain, but also sunshine in Cadwell Park. The first pictures of the Guzzi outfit are published. It is also demonstrated that upside down racing doesn't bring any advantages...

26th of September 2008 The whole team is ready to travel to England for the last race of the season. On Saturday and Sunday the Guzzi will ride the long circuit of  Cadwell Park together with the Morgans and other exotic threewheelers. Keep an eye on the site for the first results.

21st of September 2008 STARTWIN supports Guzziside team!! Kees of Startwin Motors has repaired the Guzzi's exhaust without charge. The exhaust had lost it's shape due to a not wanted collapse with a wall in Jéhonville (Belgium). In the first pic you can admire the new (oval) piece. Thanx Kees!! In the other two pics the cause (break in the front fork) and the renewed fork are shown.

20th of September 2008 Upcoming weekend (27th and 28th of September) the Guzziside team will ride her last race of this season. Two days on the beautifull long track of Cadwell park. Since Jéhonville a lot of work has been done on the front fork for the (nescessary) stability. Now we can only hope the Brittish weather gods will be mild. Underneath an illustration of how to become one with your outfit by eating, drinking and sleeping on it...

4th of August 2008 The Guzzi's braking pads were almost on fire after the first race, which can be seen as an indication of the overall temperature. For the team itself it meant an inevitable cooling down period of several hours. Crowded on and at the track. Over 30 outfits showed up, from all over Europa and even from as far as New Sealand sidecar enthousiasts came to race on the famous Barneveld track. The adjusted Guzzi front fork seems promising, in the first race we finished first. The second manche unfortunately was too short, hopefully better next year!! See the pics and movies of Barneveld.

24rd of July 2008 Upcoming Saturday (26th of July) the guzziside team will race the Classic Grand Prix in Barneveld. Morning training session start from approx. 11 hours, from 13 to 17 hour two manches will be raced. Over 30 outfits on the track will make an interesting race! See you on Saturday on the circuit of industrial estate de Harselaar (turn 16, A1 the Netherlands)

29th of June 2008 Ducside team at TT-festival Assen!! During the Assen pré TT night sidecar racer demonstrations were held in the centre of town. Have a look at the photos and short movies for an impression of this first sidecar experience.

26th of June 2008 Ducside team on TT-festival Assen!! Upcoming Friday night (27th of June) sidecar racing demos will be held between 20.00 and 0.00 hour in Assen centre. Of course the Ducati will be there as well, see you tomorrow!!

23rd of June 2008 On Friday morning the 20th of June the Guzzi sidecar racer was ready for two times 10 minutes of practice on the "Schleizer dreieck" circuit. A total of about 25 sidecar outfits had showed up for the classic racing event, most of them being beemers. Nice to see so many continental outfits, a great benefit on this counterclockwise track. The training sessions go well, the circuit is very nice and even on a left sided outfit a lot of fun. Also the new rear tire brings a great improvement!

During the time training as well as in the Saturday race the Guzzi breaks down with ignition problems. We do finish, although just rolling the last 20 m and lucky not to be overtaken by anyone! All spare part are finished so in the Sunday race the Ducati will be present. With the Ducati we're 2 seconds faster then the Guzzi and also finish sixth in our group.

17th of Juni 2008 Once more a début, upcoming weekend the team will race at the circuit "Schleizer dreieck" in the far southeastern part of Germany. We are curious about this event and whether we can keep up with our competitors. Keep an eye on the site to see how this adventure ends!!
12th of June 2008 The Isle of Man and Rhenen pictures have been published. In Rhenen the duc was races, passengered by Henny. Despite the lovely weather only one race was raced. Klick here for the pics
27th of May 2008 Friday afternoon the complete finally was reunited on the legendary motorcycle racing Isle of Man. At that time the repairs on the Condor had just been finished, so wewent out for a ride along the Billown circuit (see video below). Friday evening we, along with the other three sidecar racing teams from the Netherlands, also invited by Dick Hawkes (and Eppo on his solo Triumph) did two laps to familiarise ourselves with the circuit. Afterwards all sidecars joined in for a free training session. Saturday morning again a newcomers lap, followed by a time training session. Because of a lost part we could only finish one lap, which was fast enough to qualify for the pré-TT race on Monday morning. After finding all lost parts and completing the Guzzi again we were ready to race! Monday morning all 18 outits apeared at the starting grid to race 6 laps. The Guzziside team ended seventh!! Satisfied and full of good memories of this hospitable island we all return home. Pictures of the exciting race will follow...

21st of May 2008 Upcoming weekend the Guzzi racing sidecar outfit will join the pré-TT classic road races on the Billown circuit in the South of the Isle of Man. The training sessions for this event, also known as Southern 100 road races, will take place on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. The race, for those who classify, will be held on Monday the 26th of May. Keep an eye on the site for the latest racing news of the Guzziside team on the legendary motorcycle racing island!!

17th of May 2008 At Eemshaven different sidecar teams have been interviewd, in this  weblog all inside information is uncoverd... (In Dutch only, we're sorry!)

12th of May 2008 A beautiful day it was today (Whitsun Monday) on the circuit (industrial area) "De Boskamp" in Tubbergen, Netherlands. All classes were represented very well. In the sidecar classe seventeen outfits showed. The BSA and the were a match for each other, each writing a manche on it's name after a hot battle.  All in all a very nice racing day with an enthousiastic public! More pics...

10th of May At Whitsun (Monday 12 May) the Ducati sidecar will ride a demo on the circuit (industrial area) "De Boskamp" in Tubbergen, Netherlands. The training sessions will commence at 10.30 hour, the demonstrations (two manches) will start at 12.30 hour. Come and see!!

7th of May 2008 Another second place for the Guzziside team! And more pictures on the photo page. Above all we had nice weather in Eemshaven, a fair track, enthousiastic public and a great organisation, we'll be there next year for sure!

2nd of May 2008 The season has started for the guzziside team in the north of the Netherlands on assumption day. The new driving mechanism worked out perfectly, we're very pleased with the second place. The new braking system is very good as well, although certain colleages say braking only slows you down... Here a couple of pics and if you want to see for yourself, upcoming weekend there's a second chance to see the races in Eemshaven!!

26th of April 2008 Thursday the 1st of May the guzziside team will ride the first race of the season. Eemshaven, in the north of the Netherlands will be the location, the circuit of the Groninger Seadike. The Guzzi has been given a new rear fork construcion, in which a new driving mechanism fits with a greater number of gearing possibilities. Curious to see the result, then we'll see you in Eemshaven on assumption day!

15th of April 2008 Despite the rainy circumstances, the atmosphere during the bevel day at Startwin´s in Loenen was very pleasant. Click here to have a look at the photo´s and most of all the beautifull ducs.

In the mean time the team is awakening from a long winterrest and getting ready for the first race of the season. Eemshaven is the first race on the agenda, we count on good racing whether and of course an enthousiastic public.

28th of February 2008 Check the Calender to know where you can see the ducside / guzziside team in action this racing season!!

14th of January 2008 For the long winter evenings: a couple of exciting  sidecar racing movies... Featering the ducside/guzziside team!!

22nd of December 2007 GUZZI SIDECAR OUTFIT HOT NEWS ITEM - During the 2007 racing season the Guzzi sidecar has been published in a couple of magazines. In a Frensh-Belgium motormagazine (Moto Pulsion July/August) the photo on the right was spotted accompanied by the following text fragment: "Et comme toujours une ambiance bon enfant dans les paddocks des side-cars dialogues, discussions, rigolades, etc...". It's a miracle they could see all that in Henk's face...

And in the English Old Bike Mart (nr. 269) the article on the Cadwell Park event was accompanied by a couple of nice action photographs. The successes of both the Guzziside and the Weslake team are illustrated nicely, although British experts mistook the Barneveld outfit for a BSA!!! And sorry Richard en Kim, you must have been too fast for the photographer...

8th of December 2007 Now published part 3, unfortunately only in Dutch language, but again you might just enjoy the pictures...
2nd of November 2007 Only in Dutch, but just to enjoy the pics, the story of restoring and getting started with the Moto Guzzi outfit in three parts in "motorblaadje" part 1 and part 2
2nd of October 2007 Last race of this year succesfull for the Guzziside team! See the first pictures...
24th of September 2007 A new valve seal is installed and the team is ready to travel to Cadwell Park in England for our last race of this year on September 29 and 30. We hope we will enjoy racing with the Guzzi between the Morgans and other threewheelers as much as we did last year with the Ducati.
18th of September 2007 A fellow rider sent us the following nice pics of Zandvoort.
9th of September 2007 A great deal of Moto Guzzi fun on the Zandvoort circuit. On Saturday 8th of September the CRT club took care of the break event during the historic car GP on the Zandvoort circuit. Over 40 (solo and sidecar) riders filled the track twice. During lunchbreak the first session was ridden on a dry circuit. The racing cars had left the track covered with rubber pieces, which did not bother the sidecars as much as the solo riders. The circuit was perfect for the Guzzi outfit, but just when we got to know the track, the sidecar became slippery due to oil leakage. A little hole in the oil cooler turned out to cause the problem. A quick repair wasn't sufficient, so in order to ride the second session the cooler was short-circuited. During the second session the track was again perfectly dry. We started first, so we had an empty track ahead of of for the first couple of laps. Opening the throttle a bit more, the Guzzi kept steering very secure on the highly curved track. And just after we got the hang of it, the Guzzi quit on us again, in the last lap. The worrying noise we'd heard had been the valve seat exploding into the cilinder head (see pics). Besides the engine problems we had a great practice day. Full of confidence we look forward to the next race with the Guzzi sidecar.
9th of September 2007 Riding alternates with repairing in Gedinne, Belgium. Almost 50 gathered in Gedinne in order to perform the last races for the Belgium Championship. Starting in two groups, so we were able to see and encourage our collegae sidecar riders. On the Friday afternoon two new valves arrived. Since the last race in Jehonville one bended one had to be replaced.  On the Saturday morning the first practice was performed on a dry track. It was the first time I passengered since the last improvements on the Guzzi. The lengthening of the frame and taking off the rear suspension worked very well on the steering characteristics of the outfit. As a positive side effect the passengers exit is also enlarged, so getting in and out of the outfit is made a lot easier. The training times promissed a succesfull race, although in the last lap the exhaust valves hit the cilinders again. Our Saturday afternoon race was cancelled due to delays after a couple of crashes. It gave us time for our search for another exhaust valve, for we were now one short. All Guzzi friends approached in order to get the needed valve, a used one arriving around midnight, THANKS GUZZI FRIENDS! During breakfast the grinding ans polishing commenced, but the warm-up was too early, so the Ducati was started. Afterwards more polishing and building up the cilinder head again. After an hour the engine was finished and ready for the first race. On a dry track both races were raced. And breaking our last year Ducati times with four seconds, we went home satisfied!
6th of September 2007 Moto Guzzi sidecar will ride upcoming Saturday (8th of  September) on the Zandvoort circuit (Netherlands). See you there!
3rd of September 2007 Moto Guzzi sidecar makes big improvements in Jehonville and Gedinne. Shortly the story of these exciting events will be published, see the first  photos for an impression.

16th of August 2007 The preparations for Jehonville, Belgium (24rd - 26th of August) have nearly finished, see for yourself the first test results...

29th of July 2007 DUCATI FASTER THEN WESLAKE IN BARNEVELD!! Although the rain was pouring down in the morning, at the beginning of the training session the sun als came out in Barneveld. The startgrid was well filled as ever, the public filled the sidelines round the complete track. During the first race the ducside team strarted from the second row. In the exciting race the ducati finished second. In the second race the duc pulled the straw for the eigth starting row. Due to a very fast start, the ducside team came third through the first corner. Nr. 2 dropped out, so the chase for the Weslake that had started from the first row was commenced. After a very exciting race the black and white flag fell first voor the Ducati. We thank all fans for their enthousiastic encourages!! Go to photographs

24rd of July 2007 Moto Guzzi breakdown, and a first and second place with the Ducati on the big Chimay circuit! See the first photos, a complete story of these exciting races will follow shortly.

17th of July 2007 Friday, Saturday and Sunday the Motos Classiques will take place on the Chimay circuit! The Guzzi will be there! Hopefully in a well filled (international) sidecar starting grid. According to the last weather forecasts all ingredients for a great weekend are assured.

9th of July 2007 Under the hot English sun four races for the CRMC championship were held at the Brands Hatch circuit last weekend. With the Moto Guzzi sidecar racer all races were ridden (and finished) as gast rider under large public interest. In total 16 sidecars appeared on the starting grid, from which the Imp's  dominated our class of period three outfits. The minimal circuit knowlegde (only three training laps) didn't work in our advantage, but a couple of British made sidecars couldn't handle the brute Italian forces of their concurrence. See the pictures for an impression of this exciting battle.

3rd of July 2007 Next weekend (7 & 8 July) The Guzzi will be taken out on Brands Hatch circuit in England. The Bikers Classics days on Spa-Francorchamps were a perfect preparation. Reed more on these nine sessions, raced with both the Ducati and the Moto Guzzi outfit.
2nd of July 2007 The Bikers Classics weekend on Spa-Francorchamps were very succesfull for the ducside team. Both the Ducati and the Moto Guzzi have been out on this great track. During the unpacking of the Guzzi on Thursdayevening a shortage in the braking system showed. A new oil seal solved the leakage problem and the oufit was tested ok for the weekend. All three Friday sessions the Guzzi was ridden, while the last session resulted in our suits wet. Both in wet and dry conditions the Guzzi felt comfortable on the long circuit. But after the first Saturday session the adjusted gearbox was mounted. This wasn't finished during the second session, so the Ducati was fired up. Changing to the continental outfit wasn't a problem at all. On the Saturdaynight a rock'n'roll band appeared on stage, so the dancing muscles were tested as well. While mounting the Guzzi (bright and shiny) on the Sunday morning a fuel leakage showed. Immediately the Ducati was started. During the second session the fuel tank hadn't dried completely, so the Duc was taken out on the track again. With the bigger first sprocket mounted the near concurrence could be overtaken again! The last Sundayevening session the Guzzi finely could be started again. After a few laps the throttle wasn't closed anymore on eau rouge and the rest of the circuit was finished nicely with the newly mounted gearbox and the adjusted suspension system. Anyway, a fine result and good preparation for Brands Hatch upcoming weekend. And more photos from Spa-Francorchamps...
27th of June 2007 It's almost time. Both outfits are ready to show their very best on the circuit of Spa-Francorchamps. Hopefully there'll be as much sidecars as last years, the weather will be nice, there will be less repairing works and an enthousiastic public. The ducside team is prepared to make the best of it! See ya Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday in Spa...

4th of June 2007 During the  Bikers Classics Days weekend (29 - 30st June & 1st July) the ducside team rides on the circuit of Spa-Francorchamps. Both the Ducati and the Moto Guzzi will be shown in full action. Come to see and/or ride during this great event

29 mei 2007 Fortunate and less fortunate moments are exchanged during the Pentecost weekend in Bremerhaven, Germany. Got up real early on the Saturday morning in order to join the extra free training session on the Saturday afternoon in Bremerhaven. During the specially organised sidercar riders meeting we are told there are more sidecar outfits present then available training places. Good to have so many outfits, but it seems a strange organisation policy. Anyway, we´re on the track to find out the suspension adjustments are working out very good! During the time training on the Sunday a third and a seventh time are achieved. However round noon we are unpleasantly surprices by the message that our travelling partner and photographer Henk Morren has had an unfortunate encounter with the motorcycle of a rider who has lost control of his vehicle, right in the corner Henk shoots his best pics. We were happy to drink a beer together in the evening to celebrate the  (relatively) good ending. Henk, the second photographer and also the rider we wish a quick recovery! During the Monday races the good training times couldn´t be cashed. The first race wasn´t ridden due to technical problems and the second race was called of by the organisation caused by a large oil spill from the previous session. Even a special oil vacuum cleaner wasn´t good enough to clean the track to resume the event. Regrettably for riders and public that had shown up in large numbers despite the wetherforcasts. Hopefully next year will be as big an event as ever!

25 The Guzzi (and the rest of the team) can't wait to race at the famous Bremerhaven circuit in Germany upcoming weekend. Keep an eye on the site for the results!

20th of May 2007 Under the hot Groninger sun the classic sidecar races were ridden on ascention day. The first photographs are published. The first training the ducside team performed on the Moto Guzzi sidecar. The second railroadcrossing was too high for the fueltank underneath the passengers seat. To prevent to end the tank with the ending of the day the second heat the Ducati sidecar was fired up. An ideal circuit for the continental outfit. The first laps the Duc was doing perfect, but after a while the gearing box stopped functioning well. The problem couldn't be solved at the spot, so the wise decision was made to raise the Moto Guzzi fuel tank with a couple of centimeters in order the be in the final race of the day. The railroadcrossing problem was solved, but an electrical minority put us behind half a lap in the first round. Although an exciting race followed, no podium place was reached. We did however enjoy this nice day and the perfect organisation of the event. We hope to return to Eemshaven next year with even more classic sidecar outfits!
14th of May 2007 The Guzziside team is looking forward to Thursday the 17th of May. On the fast Eemshaven circuit the first classic sidecar races will be held with more then 20 combinations on the starting grid. Expected training times are 11.25 and 14.45 hour (under reservation). The race is listed for 18.45 hour. See you next Thursday on the Dutch (Groninger) seadike!
14 mei 2007 First race succesfull for Moto Guzzi sidecaroutfit. During both sunny spells and showers the G. Old Trophy of Mettet was raced. A total of  20 outfits was listed for this event. The first Saturday training was ridden on a wet track. After a complicated starting procedure (the Guzzi is not a very enthousiastic cold starter - to prevent our pushing colleages from turning their backs on us, we're working hard to solve the problem) we started carefully on our first lap. The new tires and steering stabilizer made the outfit feel very controlable. After a few laps the speed went up and we enjoyed the roaring Guzzi sound during the 2,5 km long way down. The training resulted in a 8th trainingtime, not a bad result! During the race the track was completely dry. From the third starting line we had a smashing start, coming through the first bend on the third position. We soon had to let pass a couple of faster outfits, but we were satisfied with a 7th time. This result was repeated in the Sunday training with a 7th position on the starting grid. Unfortunately we didn´t join the Sunday race due to a faulty oil line 10 minutes before the start. The oil line has been replaced by a different type, so we aren´t facing the same problem next Thursday in Eemshaven. We can only look back on a succesfull and promissing weekend ...

6th of May 2007 The preparations for the first race of the year have nearly been finished. With the mounting of a couple of new tires the Moto Guzzi is ready for the fast Mettet circuit (Belgium) on the 12th and 13nd of May.

23rd of April 2007 Both the Ducati and the Moto Guzzi didn't end up at the "opendoor days" at Europe Bikes in Hasselt, Belgium because of engine troubles. Of the new Dodge motorhome, that is to say, but were would the ducside team be without...  (it's running like never before now).20th of April 2007 Upcoming weekend (April 21st and 22nd) both the Ducati and the Moto Guzzi van be seen during the "opendoor days" at Europe Bikes in Hasselt, Belgium.

26th of March 2007 Moto Guzzi attracks a lot of attention on the Zolder race track. After a couple of uncertain first meters, the throttle was opened a little bit more in the second heat. The corners were rounded a bit better. The engine runs smoothly and feels very powerfull.

18th of March 2007 The last test results are promising. The sound is lovely, the engine runs smoothly en the gas respons is monstrously direct. On sunday the 25th of March the ducside team will ride the first race on this beautiful Guzzi. See ya on the Zolder circuit !!

Oschersleben

7th & 8th October 2006

9th of October 2006 Ducati sidecar team beats flock of BMW outfits in Oschersleben, Germay! On our arrival Saturday afternoon the circumstances were far from ideal. The rain was pouring down, causing the track to flood at several places. But late afternoon, when the sidecars turned up to ride a free session, the air had cleared. The track had dried as well. Due to a slight delay we were just in time to see the sun set when we left the track. Saturday night (completely unexpected) a typical German party band played suiteble music.

Sunday morning at 8 o´clock we had our first free training session. This is very early for the Ducati team. The brakes hadn´t woken up either, so we didn´t complete the training to our satisfaction. New brake pads brought us some improvement in the second training session, but we only succeeded make it to a 14th starting position out of as many as 30 sidecars. Not a shame to see so many F2 outfits of us anyway. We had a smashing start and passed a couple of pushy beemers right away. Also behind us were our Belgian Weslake colleges, who were waiting for the lights to turn green. They passed us on the outside in the first corner with their left handed outfit. Unfortunately they broke down a little while later (good luck with the repairments, gents). In the mean time we felt the BMW's pushing us around the track (see photos). In lap 7 two of them passed us, but we got them back in the last lap, in the very last corner!

It was a very exciting race anyway, rewarded with a second place for regularity. We ended the last race of the year drinking champagne! Keep an eye on the news for our racing plans for next year!

30th september 2006 In the Dutch magazine 'Motor' a comparisson between the Ducati Sportclassic 2006 and the 750 Sport from 1973. See edutainment.
Cadwell park, England

30th Sept. & 1st Oct. 2006

6th of October 2006 Race Cadwell park (written by Henk)

Left Thursday night 28/9 directed towards Oostende for the cheap Channel crossing to Ramsgate. Dispite the longer journey, we wanted to try this route in stead of Rotterdam-Hull, which is very expensive. The boat left Friday morning 29/9 an hour late. Clara slept through the complete sailing, while the rest of the team wrote pieces for the website or lost themselves in boredom. It was a very smooth crossing anyway. On arrival we left for Cadwell immediately. During the sunny afternoon we were delayed for a bit by a flat tire on the trailer. Shortly after our arrival (late afternoon) it started raining a bit. Nevertheles the beers in the canteen tasted fine.

Saturday 30/9 we had to get up early for the nescesary checkups and paperworks, but the sun was shining already. We were in the threewheeler class for sidecars over 750 cubic, multivalves and threewheeled cars like Morgans etc. and first reserve for the period 2 sidecars. After the simultaneous training, one outfit broke down completely. Therefor we could race both classes. In the four races we came in 5th and second in the P2 and became 9th and 6th with the threewheelers. A very fine score on a new and rather difficult track, so we ended the day drinking to that!

Sunday 10/1: We race the full circuit today. Another new track for us. In the morning we joined the training sessions for newly arrived. In the first P2 race we got a third place, thanks to a dropout. The full circuit is difficult for us, almost completely consisting of right handed corners. An extra handicap for our continental outfit. Nice track though. In the first threewheeler race we came in 7th. The second P2 race was cancelled due to lack of time. Late in the afternoon another 7th place in our last race of the day. Looking back on a very good weekend while we were out on the track 11 times, super!

Stiens, Netherlands

Gedinne, Belgium

2 & 3 September 2006

4th of September 2006 3rd and 4th place for the Ducati sidecar team in Gedinne! At our arrival in the paddocks of the Gedinne circuit, we were pleased to see so many classic sidecars for the last race in the Belgian championship. More then fifty entries, of which about 20 in our group. A lot of British teams came over for this event. Our first practice on the very early Saterday morning went very well. With a fourth time, we earned a good staring position. A quick start resulted in a second position in the first chicane, but this soon became a third. A British BMW team was on our heels continuously. In the very last lap he cought us on the inside of an overstretched right handed corner. We finished fourth, still a very good result.

Saterday night a rock'n'roll band had a lot of us twisting and jiving on the dansfloor. In the early sundaymoring training we rode a sixth starting time. During the afternoon race the track was wet, but in wasn't raining. The start went very well again, we were in third position right away. In a very exciting battle we lost this position to the same BMW. But then both the beemer and ourselves overtook the Windle that was in second postion. This time we kept the third place, so we went home very pleased and with a price.

Assen, Netherlands

31st of August 2006

29th of August 2006 Our race in ASSEN next Thursday the 31st of August CANCELLED!! Ducati Sidecar outfit not permitted due to KNMV regulations. We will race in Gedinne the 2nd and 3rd of August for the Belgian championship.

20th of August 2006 1st price in Winschoten, Netherlands for the Ducati Sidecar Racing Team! After a wet training session, again eight sidecar outfits were ready to leave for the first and only race of the day. The ducati was to fast at the start for nr. 33 (Knevelman/Jansen on their Beemer. On the nice asphalt of the Winschoten circuit an exciting race resulted in a first place for the bevel. For riding the most regular of all outfits we got a first price as well.

Thanks to all the fans it was a very succesfull race.

Assen, Netherlands

Barneveld, Netherlands

22nd of July 2006

24th of July 2006 Just in time we finished the outfit to join the Classic Grand Prix of Barneveld (Netherlands) on saterday 22nd of july. The passenger was fit enough (news on Chimay, 14-16th of july) to take her place. The training laps were finished quiet carefull and although the outside temperature was as high as inside the suits, we finished to our satisfaction.

During the first race trust was regained in the newly rebuild 860 engine. Notwithstandig the "calm" speeds both rider and passenger returned to the paddocks with a reddened face, but smiling widely. In the second race the track had turned into a skippery plane. The first rain in weeks spread the accumulated oil and dirt over the full length of the circuit. To continue pointing the outfit's front side into the right direction turned out to be the hardest chalange. Although quiet a number of sidecars (27) entered the race, no real problems were encountered.
